Week 1 Reflections

First week in high school started out very different from my elementary school. Hearing all of the different bells were so confusing. I was not sure what class was what and when we were going to change classes. Overall, I was simply nervous. After talking with my teacher my nerves turned into excitement. I was excited to start teaching my students. I have also learned a great deal about administration duties. My teacher has taught me so much about the IEP's and the special education process. High school exposes you more to the IEPs since they are more intense and the difficulty level increases.

I feel that I have made great strives with the high school students, I opened the day with each class and try to see what they did last night or if they have anything that they can share. I have students wanting to talk with me and they feel that they can share things, which makes me feel better about being in high school.

I have the best teacher, she is so caring and wants to help me learn and grow as a teacher. I am very lucky to be with her and her students.

Some of the strength of my year four portfolio were my action research, I feel that I truly understood the different aspects of the research.

For my fifth year portfolio I am planning on show the variety of characteristics that I have exhibited in my high school placement as well as my elementary. Through this experience I plan to show how I have grown in my ability to teach.
