This week has gone really well. I have been teaching full time. This week we have gotten into the Read 180 program as well as the civics book.
The schools management system has improved based on communicating with my teaching. I feel that my teacher's classroom has good management. There is an understanding between my teacher and her students about having respect. I feel that my students have the respect for me and the other students that is need for them to have the best education. The students get a long very well.
Today, September 1, 2010, I had a students that was constantly talking. I could not get him to understand that it is important to be quiet. He was very happy today, but could not get him to understand that he needed to be quiet. He was argueing with me today, but he was doing it in a joking manner. I feel that it was good, because he felt that he could talk and joke with me. Other than that I feel that the day went well.
Civics is something new for me to teach, but I feel that I am learning as I am planning my lessons.
Jenna is doing an absolute great job! Not only did you have to get to know how a high school is run differently than an elementary school, you have to deal with high school students too-which can be a challenge in itself! Also, with your cooperating teacher being the Designee of the department, you have to learn administrative duties along with teaching and classroom duties! You have jumped right in there as a full time teacher just without the pay! You are doing a great job! I appreciate all of your help, kindness, and patience in getting the year going!
